Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe Will Open 'Les Miserables' in Crowded December 2012

December 2012 definitely didn't need another high profile release, but here you go: Deadline reports that Universal has scheduled 'Les Miserables' for Dec. 7, 2012, with long-rumored stars Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe attached as Jean Valjean and Javert, respectively. The Tom Hooper-directed film joins 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,' the Meryl Streep/Steve Carell dramedy 'Great Hope Springs,' Brad Pitt's 'World War Z,' Ang Lee's adaptation of 'Life of Pi' and Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained' on the December 2012 calendar. When reached for comment, November expressed sadness over being ignored. [Deadline]

According to Variety, the doomed 'Contagion' star and Joely Richardson have joined Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins in 'Thanks for Sharing,' an indie dramedy about how sex addiction brings four friends together. Paltrow will play Phoebe, a businesswoman who falls for Ruffalo; Richardson is set for role of Robbins's onscreen wife. That's all well and good, but what should really get you excited is the man behind the scenes: Stuart Blumberg, the Oscar-nominated co-screenwriter for 'The Kids Are All Right,' makes his directorial debut with 'Thanks for Sharing,' which he co-wrote with Matt Winston. Cruising around town in style, Lindsay Lohan was spotted visiting Byron & Tracey salon in Beverly Hills while arriving in a brand new ride on Tuesday afternoon (September 6).

The troubled "Georgia Rule" actress hopped out of her sporty Porsche Panamera S looking ever-so-chic as she headed into the place of beauty to get her coif prettied up before emerging hours later with a big smile on her face.

The sighting comes just after a Radar Online report claimed that LiLo has been blowing off her court-ordered community service hours - which she and her rep have both denied.

Of the claim, Lohan told E! News, "I've done tons of DWC community service. You guys [Radar] are way off par on your inadequate and negative assumptions."

The 25-year-old's rep added, "Lindsay has been performing community service at the Downtown Women's Center for months now. There are dozens of paparazzi shots of her going in and out of the facility. How could anyone think she is not doing her community service?"

Moviefone reported on Friday about the imminent release of 'The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence)' on Oct. 7 and we even offered up a teaser-trailer about the film, the second part of director Tom Six's trilogy that will culminate in 'The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence),' due next year or in 2013. We now have an inkling of what the film will be about, as well as a very clever Australian trailer that just went online.

As you'll recall, 'The Human Centipede' was called "idiotic, exploitative and sickening," "torture porn with an artistic gloss," "a grotesque and sickening novelty" and "totally vile" by most movie critics and, though it stirred up a lot of controversy, not that many people actually saw the film: It grossed $181,467 in the U.S. and $252,207 internationally, faring slightly better on DVD with $2 million in sales.

Michael Fassbender Premieres "Shame" in Venice

Back for more press duties after a midday photocall, Michael Fassbender was front and center at the premiere of “Shame” at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday night (September 4).

The “Inglourious Basterds” actor suited up for the Palazzo del Cinema screening while joined by producers Emile Sherman, Iain Canning, as well as screenwriter Abi Morgan and director Steve McQueen.

How does "Eddie Murphy, Oscar host," sound?

According to Deadline, Oscars-producer Brett Ratner wants the comedian, who co-stars in his upcoming fim 'Tower Heist,' to host the 84th Academy Awards. Ratner must get the okay of the Academy first, but Eddie is reportedly "showing interest" in the gig.

Murphy was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in 2006's 'Dreamgirls.' As we remember it, he wasn't the greatest sport about losing to Alan Arkin for 'Little Miss Sunshine,' but we're guessing he'd make a much more enthusiastic host.
